Setelah sekian lama menyimpan hasrat untuk menulis post untuk seorang sahabat, akhirnya dapat juga mencari masa. Baru je habis exam. Sekadar berkongsi sedikit pengalaman setahun lebih duduk di sini, walaupun tak tahu nak tulis apa ni, hehe.

So far, alhamdulillah life semuanya ok. Masa tahun pertama semuanya rasa seronok. Tempat baru, pengalaman baru, kawan2 baru dan environment baru. Sekarang masa tahun kedua ni pun seronok sebab rumah tak pernah putus ada orang datang. Cuma kadang-kadang ada rasa bosan sikit hidup kat sini (mungkin dah lama sangat duduk jauh dengan family kot, hrm....ataupun tension belajar medik sebenarnya, hehe). Perbezaan budaya agak ketara. Tak banyak tempat-tempat menarik melainkan kawasan2 pemandangan yang cantik- sesuai untuk melancong. Berbanding dengan UK, Ireland ni macam countryside dan tidak 'semaju' uk. Tapi alhamdulillah, sangat bersyukur sebab memang suka tempat yang tenang dan tak sibuk macam ni. Masyarakat di sini tersangatlah baik terutamanya golongan yang dah berusia. Walaupun kita senyum je dekat dia, diaorang akan mulakan perbualan. Ada seorang kawan pernah berlari kejar bas, dan tiba-tiba ada seorang Irish ni yang datang dari belakang dan kejar bas tu jugak semata-mata supaya kawan ni tak terlepas. Tersangatlah baik. (walaupun budak2 kecik di sini agak "nakal" terutamanya kalau ada snow.)

Hehe....tak tahu nak tulis apa ni. Kita tengok gambar je la.

Salam. Lama sungguh tak menulis dekat blog ni. Bila nak exam, baru teringat dekat blog.
Tak tahu kenapa, mungkin 'classical conditioning' yg mengaitkan exam dengan blog.
Exam semakin hampir. Sudah tiba waktunya, masa untuk berperang, dengan segala kudrat yang ada. Semoga Allah permudahkan. InsyaAllah....

SHAH ALAM: “Paling penting belajar mesti konsisten, baru boleh berjaya dalam apa juga bidang yang kita ambil. Selain itu, setiap hari saya mesti baca al-Quran dan solat hajat, bagi mendapat keberkatan dalam menuntut ilmu,” kata Dr Nur Azah Mohd Isa, 24, penerima Anugerah Seri Paduka Baginda Tuanku Canselor, pada Istiadat konvokesyen ke-73 Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) di sini, semalam.

Pelajar Sarjana Muda Perubatan dan Pembedahan kelas pertama itu dipilih sebagai penerima anugerah graduan terbaik UiTM 2010 di atas pencapaian luar biasa dalam akademik dan kokurikulum sepanjang lima tahun menuntut di situ. Paling menarik, anak jati Kuala Lumpur itu turut memperoleh A+ dalam semua kertas ujian yang diambil. Dr Nur Azah berkata, dia juga kerap berhubung dengan keluarga, terutama ibunya, Khairiah Mohd Shariff, 54, bagi mendapat keredaan dalam pelajaran dan bidang yang diceburi.

“Belajar perubatan memerlukan usaha yang konsisten, kerja keras dan pengorbanan. “Saya juga banyak mendapat inspirasi daripada pembacaan mengenai Nabi Muhammad, sirah Nabi dan sahabat baginda yang bertungkus-lumus menyebarkan Islam memberi inspirasi mengenai kejayaan yang sebenar,” katanya yang kini menjadi doktor pelatih di Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), Klang.

Walaupun sibuk dengan kerja harian, ia tidak menghalangnya bergiat aktif dalam aktiviti persatuan dan kerap membabitkan diri dalam kerja komuniti, selain menghadiri simposium perubatan. Beliau juga berhasrat melanjutkan pelajaran dalam bidang perubatan dalaman terutama dalam penyelidikan onkologi mengenai rawatan penyakit kanser.

“Cita-cita saya mahu menjadi pakar perubatan Muslim yang terbaik. “Sekarang ini tak ramai pakar perubatan Muslim yang benar-benar hebat dalam bidang diceburi,” katanya yang juga anak kedua daripada lima beradik.

Ditanya mengenai pahit maung sepanjang bergelar mahasiswa, Dr Nur Azah berkata, belajar perubatan di UiTM dia terpaksa mengorbankan masa dengan keluarga dan kawan-kawan, apatah lagi untuk bersosial.

“Bagi pelajar jurusan lain, kebiasaannya mereka akan mendapat cuti dua bulan, tetapi kami hanya dua minggu,” katanya.

Ayam Masak Blackpepper

Assalamualaikum. Saja nak berkongsi resepi di sini.
Memandangkan kami satu rumah dah tak lalu nak makan kari, kurma, masak kicap, sup atau tomyam, terpaksalah semua kena mencari resepi baru di internet. Hari ini giliran aku masak,. Since esok cuti umum kat sini (St. Patrick Day), bolehlah aku spend masa cari resepi. Baru je habis masak ni.

Ayam masak blackpepper ni boleh dimasak dengan dua cara. Satu dengan menggoreng ayam separuh masak dulu (ayamnya akan rasa lebih crispy). Satu lagi, lebih mudah, macam resepi di bawah ni.

Bahan-bahan
3 atau 4 sudu besar Lada hitam (ditumbuk/dikisar)
2 biji Bawang besar dikisar (blend)
2 ulas bawang putih dikisar
2 biji Lada hidup (dipotong besar )
2/3 tangkai daun kari (kalau tak ada pun ok)
Tomato/kacang panjang/kentang/ sayur (kalau tak nak letak pun takpe)
Ayam (dipotong)
Sedikit kicap lemak manis
sedikit air (nak cepat guna air panas)
sedikit minyak masak
garam secukup rasa

Cara masak

1) Panaskan minyak. Masukkan daun kari. Kemudian masukkan bawang besar. Goreng hingga kekuningan. Masukkan serbuk lada hitam yg ditumbuk tadi.
2) Masukkan kicap. Masukan sedikit air.Tunggu hingga menggelegak,kemudian masukkan ayam. Boleh masukkan kentang/tomato/kacang panjang
3) Masukan garam secukup rasa.Tunggu hingga ayam masak.masukkan lada hidup. Kalau nak warnanya lebih hitam, tambahkan kicap.
3) Untuk pekatkan kuah, boleh tambahkan 1 atau 2 sudu besar tepung beras. Tunggu hingga ayam masak dan boleh dihidang selepas tu.

Ni yang aku masak. Kurangnya sebab tak letak tomato/sayur dan warnanya kurang hitam (boleh tambah kicap sebenarnya).
Tapi rasanya sedap. Maaflah presentation teruk.

Itu je yang dapat dikongsi. Insya-Allah bermanfaat. Satu tanggungjawab dah habis. hrm..dah boleh baca anatomy untuk card signing hari Jumaat ni. Huhu, inilah kehidupan pelajar medik dekat sini- masak, makan, solat, study n exam. Part paling best masak (boleh lepas tension), part paling horror exam. Semoga Allah permudahkan segala urusan di sini....=)

True Happiness

Happiness in Islam by Dr Y Mansoor Marican, Ph. D

“Knock, knock.”

A British colonial officer in India sips his cup of tea and calls out, “Who is it?”

“It’s me, sir. Your washerwoman. I have come to collect your laundry.”

“Oh sure, how are you?”

“I am fine, sir. Thanks to Allah, a hundred thousand times.”

“And … how are your children doing? And the one who was sick?”

“They are fine, too, sir. All praise is to Allah.

One has malaria. He still has high fever. But he will get better, Allah willing.

And the other one is quite healthy. Allah is very gracious, sir. He looks after us.”

“Huh … and how is your husband, I never asked?”

“Oh, he died sir. Six years ago. Allah took him back sir. Allah has a plan for everything.”

A British colonial officer cites this conversation as his reason for embracing Islam.

To a Muslim reader, there is barely anything interesting in that conversation.

The British officer was struggling, like many of us, with the meaning and purpose of life.

He was pondering the best ways to make it through life, and yet always feeling unhappy, without knowing why.

The look of contentment and gratitude on the washerwoman’s face was captivating.

With her worn-out clothes, her sick child and dead husband, her meager income and dim prospects for her future, she seemed quite pleased with life.

She could barely finish a sentence without thanking Allah.

She had what the colonial aristocrat did not. He could not even understand it.

We all look for happiness. We look so hard that sometimes we even forget what we are looking for, and get deceived by appearances.

Most look for happiness in all the wrong places – in wealth, music, fame and power.

Happiness through bodily experiences doesn’t last or give inner peace.

The body just keeps on wanting more more, and is never satisfied

What then was the secret of happiness?

What did that washerwoman know that so many in the world, never figure out?

Each one of her replies had the answer.

In every situation, she remembered Allah. “For truly, it is in the remembrance of Allah that hearts find peace.” [The Qur’an 13:28]

Allah says, “Whoever does right, whether male or female, and is a Believer, We will make him live a good life … .” [16:97]

Belief in Allah’s plans and honest work provided inner peace to the washerwoman.

Those who say “I believe” will be tested, just as the washerwoman was tested.

"Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives, and the fruits of your toil.” [2:155]

To the Believers, not just hardships but wealth and other good things are also tests.

The Believer patiently perseveres all tests for he knows “there is good in everything” that Allah The Exalted has decreed. [Muslim]

The Prophet (pbuh) was reported to have said, “If the Believer experiences a blessing, he is grateful to Allah, which is good for him; and if he experiences an adversity, he remains patient, which is also good for him.” [Muslim]

Allah commands the Prophet (pbuh) to give glad tidings to those, when afflicted with hardships, remain patient and say, ‘To Allah we belong, to Him we shall return.’

Allah The Exalted refers to these Believers as the guided-ones who are blessed and receive His Mercy. [2:155-157]

“Those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without measure!” [39:10]

In Islam patient perseverance does not imply passively accepting one’s hardships.

The Believer seeks the best way out of his difficulty, supplicates (du’a) to Allah to accept his effort and finally places his complete trust (tawakkal) in Allah The All Knowing to bless him with the outcome good for him.

The Believers know that the purpose of their existence is to “worship” their Creator by adhering to the guidance in The Qur’an and the traditions of the Prophet (pbuh). [51:56]

The Believers seek to live Islam as a complete way of life: “O you believe: Enter into Islam wholeheartedly.” [2:208]

They are not deceived by the “amusement and play” of this transitory life. [6:70]

They are not here to seek happiness. To them, happiness is a reward for their obedience to Allah’s commands. [3:170]

They seek eternal happiness in Paradise.

They want “a good ending” (al-Husn al-Khatima) to this worldly life.

They wish to be welcomed thus: ”O serene soul! Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing to Allah. Join my happy servants. Enter My Paradise!” [89:27-30]

That’s real happiness in Islam!

Ingat, tak ada jalan pintas untuk selesaikan semua masalah yang sebenarnya bermula sejak bertahun-tahun yang lalu.

Ingat, orang hebat ada rutin harian yang cemerlang, istiqamah dan dilakukan dengan terbaik dan ikhlas.

Segerakan solat 5 waktu dan tingkatkan kualiti solat.
Lepas solat isya’ setiap malam lakukanlah solat TAUBAt, HAJAT & ISTIKHARAH agar lebih bersemangat dan mudah buat keputusan dan tindakan yang diberkati Allah.
Istighfar 70x setiap lepas solat agar Allah cuci hati kamu dan makbulkan doa kamu agar Dia selesaikan masalah dan buka pintu-pintu rezki.
Maafkan semua org sebelum tidur agar hati bersih, wajah cun, stres berkurangan, doa makbul dan hidayah Allah turun mencurah-curah.
Pagar diri sebelum tidur dgn fatehah dan surah 3 Qul, hembus tapak tangan dan sapu seluruh tubuh kecuali tapak kaki dan kemaluan.
Baca doa PEMBUKA 12 PINTU (untuk buka semua pintu-pintu kehebatan dan bantuan Allah), DOA MEMBUANG SIFAT NEGATIF (untuk buang sifat negatif, hindar hutang dan hindar kekejaman lelaki & wanita)
BISMILLAH 5x setiap lepas solat agar Allah melindungi kita setiap masa.

Baca juga DOA MERANGSANG DIRI & KELUARGA AGAR JAGA SOLAT.

Pengalaman yang lepas menunjukkan, bila orang membaca DOA PEMBUKA 12 PINTU dan doa-doa iringan itu, dalam masa 2 minggu hingga 6 bulan mereka dapat selesaikan semua masalah, one by one.

So, amalkan doa dengan istiqamah dan lihat bagaimana Allah mengubah keadaan diri kamu,
mengawal sifat-sifat yang negatif dan selesaikan masalah one by one dan buka berbagai pintu rezki. Amalan tambahan termasuk solat dhuha, doakan ibubapa, beri binatang makan, tahajjud, dan lain-lain.

Bila sedih, teringat peristiwa lama atau tertekan baca 3 doa yang Nabi saw ajar:

Ya Allah aku redha dgn segala ujian Kau ini dan beri aku pahala atas redha ini.
Ya Allah selesaikan semua masalah aku dan jadikan aku insan yg soleh, penyabar dan tenang, di sayangi semua org, mudah buat keputusan, lebih bersemangat setiap masa, berjaya dlm segala usaha, selesai hutang dan berjaya di dunia dan di akhirat. Hati akan tenang dan doa akan makbul.
Ingat bahawa restu ibu bapa amat kritikal untuk dapat redha Allah.

Perlu sentiasa ingat, kita boleh mohon semua yg kita mahu, TAPI ALLAH AKAN BERI APA YANG KITA PERLU DAN APA YANG BAIK UNTUK KITA.

So banyakkan sabar dan terus beramal untuk rapatkan diri dengan Allah swt.

Where is Allah?

Answer: Unless you’ve decided not to “see” Him, you cannot “miss” Him!

“There is nothing whatsoever like Him.” [The Noble Qur’an 42:11]

“No vision can grasp Allah but Allah grasps all vision.” [6:103]

We cannot see Allah The Most Exalted the way we see other things.

What do we tell those who want to know His address!

If they want a good answer, then they must ask a good question.

The question itself is wrong!

You can ask the whereabouts of a person or an object that exists in time and space.

For example, you live in time (today), and you have a body that fills some space.

Allah is The Creator of time and space.

The Creator cannot be of the same nature as the things He created.

Allah does not ‘resemble’ His creations, and is beyond the grasp of human imagination.

If He is of the same nature as His creations, then He too, like His creations, would be in need of a Creator to satisfy His needs.

A creator who is not self-sufficient cannot be The Creator [Al Khaliq].

Allah The Creator is not limited by time and space and is independent of needs.

Allah is “everywhere” in the sense that there is no place that is without His presence.

The Noble Qur’an

What does The Noble Qur’an say about the ‘whereabouts’ of Allah The Most Merciful?

“He is firmly established on the Throne of authority.” [20:5]

“Whichever direction you turn, there is the presence of Allah.” [2:115]

“We are nearer to man than he is to his jugular vein.” [50:16]

“He is with you wherever you are – Allah is aware of all your actions.” [57:4]

“When my servants question you [Muhammad] about Me, tell them that I am very close to them.” [2:186]

“The Hand of Allah was above their hands [when they pledged allegiance to you, O Prophet].” [48:10]

The purpose of these verses is not to give us a description of Allah’s whereabouts.

The hidden meanings of these verses are known only to Allah The Almighty. [3:7]

In their contexts, these verses convey the grandeur and magnificence of The Almighty.

The Qur’an states that Allah is unique and that nothing resembles Him. [42:11, 112:4]

Those with “knowledge” will know Allah by reflecting on the things created by Him. [30:20-25]

All things in the Universe are ayat (signs) that point to the existence of a Perfect, All-Knowing, Almighty and Merciful Creator.

Our body and The solar system

The solar system created by Allah provides us with ‘night’ to rest.

We wake up in the morning refreshed to begin the search for our sustenance.

Neither does the solar system have an understanding of our needs nor do we have the power to make the solar system serve our needs.

This can happen only by the Will of The Supreme Creator.

Water and our survival

Human beings, animals and trees need fresh water for survival.

If salt water invades our rivers, lakes and wells, and rains down from the sky, then all life on earth will perish in a very short time.

Neither fresh water nor salt water ‘know’ of their respective roles in ensuring our sustenance or preventing our ruin.

This network of collaboration in Creation can only be the work of A Supreme Organizer Who has perfect knowledge and control of everything in creation.

He is Allah The Almighty.

Names and Attributes of Allah

Allah has no form. He is above all form. We distinguish a thing by comparing it. We know “fat” by comparing it to “thin”. Allah cannot be compared to anything as Allah does not resemble anything.

Worshipping physical representations of God is considered shirk or the act of associating partners with God. It is the only unpardonable sin in Islam.

Others worship statues and pictures of God. Islam rejects these man-made works as false gods that cannot create even “a single fly” and describes those who worship them as “feebleminded”. [22:73]

Muslims don’t try to imagine God because God is beyond the grasp of human imagination. Nothing is like Him.

They focus instead on the attributes of Allah. What is Allah like? What is His nature? What does He do? The descriptions are in Allah’s Names and Attributes.

Of the Beautiful Names and Attributes of Allah, two well-known ones are The Most Merciful [Ar-Rahim] and The Most Compassionate [Ar-Rahman].

Muslims know that their every act of mercy towards things created by Allah brings them closer to Allah The Most Merciful.

Seek nearness to Divine by walking The Straight Path of Islam.

The Almighty says, “If the Believer comes to Me walking, I go to him running.”

Why Muslim Praying in Arabic? (Why Cant I Pray My Way?)

I came across this article a few months ago when I prayed at Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur. It is very interesting and I would like to share it here. Actually there are just lots of articles that I brought home and it'll be posted next time around. Ok, lets us read this article and you would find the answer at the end of your reading. Hopefully it'll be beneficial to all.

Muslims are required to pray 5 times a day at fixed times.

During these prayers, they recite verses from The Noble Qur’an which is in Arabic.

The prayer positions include standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting.

After embracing Islam, I was wondering why do I have to pray in this way.

I liked the idea of stopping our daily activities 5 times to communicate to Allah The Permanent Who sustains everything.

But I kept fighting the need to recite rote lines in Arabic during prayer. It is not my native languae and therefore reciting in that language doesn’t seem like it is from my heart.

The sitting position during prayer can be quite uncomfortable to someone who is not used to this way of praying.

Why would Allah want me to be so frustrated and be in difficulty when I’m trying to communicate with Him?

Wouldn’t it be better for me to get into a relaxed position and really speak from my heart?

We are all slaves of The Creator

We always fight the idea of being a slave to anyone because of our ego.

We never want to be lower to anyone or anything.

The truth is we are all slaves.

We don’t have a choice to be anything else.

The only thing we choose is EGO do we serve!

Slaves of our ego

Most of us serve our ego (nafs).

Regardless of what we achieve (degree, senior position, high income), our nafs will constantly demand more.

Like a vicious salve master, our nafs will continue to press us to do or become this or that.

We think we are free.

We think we serve no one.

The truth is we are slaves to our egos until we choose to serve Allah instead.

Nafs as test

Our nafs can be a blessing or a curse.

It is our test. It can distance us from Allah or deliver us to Him.

It depends on what we choose.

If we remain trapped as slaves to the demands of our egos, then it will eventually lead to misery and unhappiness.

Every thought and action of ours will either strengthen our ego or tear it down.

Continuously chasing dreams, fulfilling urges and satisfying desires strengthen the ego.

Worshipping, fasting and disciplining the urges tame and diminish the ego.

If we learn to tame the ego, then it will become our ticket to our true freedom and happiness that will place us in the right path to the journey to Allah The Merciful.

Now I know that praying my way is serving the ego

Of course, Allah wants us to open our heart to Him. Worshipping Allah from the heart should be as natural as breathing air.

But that is different from the required daily prayers. If we only prayed when we liked to pray and in a manner that we preferred, then we are still serving our ego.

Serving Allah The Merciful

By requiring us to pray in a certain manner five times a day Allah has given us the formula for taming the ego.

Our convenience and comfort should not be the consideration in our daily prayers.

Obeying totally and unconditionally The Command of Allah The Merciful should be our only consideration.

Tough luck nafs!

Of course our nafs will be displeased when we ignore it and obey Allah instead.

It will complain and say to us, “Why must I pray this way? I don’t want to pray!”

Our answer to the ego should be. “Well guess what, you are not the boss. Allah is my master and I serve Allah.

Making you happy is not my goal in life. Serving you will make me miserable.

Serving Allah is my true purpose and joy.

The daily prayers are to make sure that you (nafs) and I always remember my true goal!”

Our nafs will never be pleased regardless of how desperately we serve its needs.

Yet Allah is pleased with every effort.

Imagine the results if we gave Allah the attention and slavehood that we give to our egos everyday.

Jihad is the struggle to control our nafs.

Now I know why jihad or the struggle against the enemy within is the most difficult and noble battle.

Welcome to the way of Allah that shows the way to tame your egos.

Pain, Loss, and the Path to God

She seemed depressed since her husband left their adorable son who just turned 1 year old recently. To my teacher, we all pray for you. I still remember the desperation. In the deep disappointment which often follows self-reflection, I turned to my Creator to plead. I turned to plead – but not for what can be measured, bought, sold, or traded. It was desperation for a truer currency. With my flaws suddenly made open to me, I became desperate to be liberated from the tyranny of my own nafs (lower desires). I became desperate to be a better person.

And so, handing my heart to Allah (swt), I prayed that I might be purified. And while I had always held to firm faith that God is the Hearer of prayers, I never imagined when – or how – that prayer would be answered.

Soon after that prayer, I experienced one of the most difficult periods of my life. During the experience, I braced myself, and prayed for guidance and strength. But never did I see any connection to my previous prayer. It was not until that time had passed, and reflecting on it, I realized how I had grown. Suddenly I remembered my prayer. Suddenly I felt that the difficulty was itself the answer to the prayer I had made so desperately.

The words of Rumi explain beautifully:

“When someone beats a rug with a stick, he is not beating the rug – his aim is to get rid of the dust. Your inward is full of dust from the veil of ‘I’-ness, and that dust will not leave all at once. With every cruelty and every blow, it departs little by little from the heart’s face, sometimes in sleep and sometimes in wakefulness.”

So often we experience things in life, and yet never see the connections between them. When we are given a hardship, or feel pain, we often fail to consider that that experience may be the direct cause or result of another action or experience. Sometimes we fail to recognize the direct connection between the pain in our lives and our relationship with Allah (swt).

That pain and adversity serves many purposes in life. Times of hardship can act as both an indication as well as a cure, for our broken relationship with our Creator.

Times of difficulty test our faith, our fortitude and our strength. During these times, the level of our iman becomes manifest. Adversity strips away our masks, revealing the truth behind mere declaration of faith. Hardships separate those whose declaration is true from those who are false.

Allah says:

“Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tested? But We have certainly tested those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars” (Qur’an, 29:2-3).

Hardships test us. But hardships can also be a blessing and a sign of Allah’s love. The Prophet Muhammad said:

“Whenever Allah wills good for a person, He subjects him to adversity” [Bukhari].

And yet most people cannot fathom how adversity could possibly be good. Many do not recognize that hardship is in fact a purifier, which brings people back to their Lord. What happens to the arrogant who are suddenly put in a situation they cannot control? What happens to a man who finds himself stranded on the ocean in the middle of a storm? What happens when the ship that is ‘unsinkable’ becomes the tale of the Titanic?

These perceived misfortunes are in fact wake up calls. They humble. They shake. They remind us of how small we are, and how Great God is. And in that way they awaken us from the slumber of our deceptions, our heedlessness, our wandering, and bring us back to our Creator. Hardships strip away the veil of comfort from our eyes, and remind us of what we are and where we’re going.

Allah (swt) says:

“…And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience]” (Qur’an, 7:168). In another ayah, Allah (swt) explains: “And We sent no Prophet to any town (and they denied him), but We seized its people with suffering from extreme poverty (or loss in wealth) and loss of health and calamities, so that they might humiliate themselves (and repent to Allah)” (Qur’an, 7:94).

This lesson in humility purifies the human soul so much so that Allah (swt) comforts the believers in the Qur’an, assuring them that any pain they encounter is intended to elevate and honor them. He says:

“If a wound should touch you – there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs – and Allah does not like the wrongdoers – And that Allah may purify the believers [through trials] and destroy the disbelievers. Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast?” (Qur’an, 3:140-142).

It is that very battle to purify the self which is the essence of the upward path to God. It begins with self-sacrifice, and is paved by the sweat of struggle.

It is this path, which God describes when He says:

“Oh mankind! Verily you are ever toiling on towards your Lord – painfully toiling – but you shall meet Him.” (Qur’an, 84:6).

"Setiap malam Rasulullah s.a.w. membacanya…" beritahu Ummul Mukminin, Sayidatina Aisyah r.ha mengenai sekelumit teladan nan segar dari kehidupan Rasulullah s.a.w. dalam hadis yang diriwayatkan oleh An-Nasa i. Apa yang dibaca oleh Nabi s.a.w. itu? Apakah bacaan yang begitu penting sekali sehingga baginda s.a.w. istiqamah membacanya saban malam, hingga ke akhir hayatnya?

Iaitulah ayat yang bermaksud:

"Hai hamba-hamba-Ku yang melampaui batas terhadap diri mereka sendiri, janganlah kamu berputus asa dari rahmat Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah mengampuni dosa-dosa semuanya. Sesungguhnya Dialah Yang Maha Pengampun dan Maha Penyayang." (Az-Zumar: 53)

Ya Rahman, luas sekali rahmat-Mu. Sungguh! Ia tidak bertepi, meliputi segala sesuatu. Hanya yang buta mata hatinya sahaja yang tidak dapat melihat dan menyelami hakikat ini. Orang yang hidup mata hatinya dengan keimanan ulul albab, sama sekali tidak akan berputus asa dari rahmat Tuhannya.

Lampu hidayah yang terang-benderang di jiwanya memberi keyakinan muktamad bahawa Allah yang disembahnya itulah Tuhan Yang Maha Pengasih lagi Maha Penyayang. Maka, biar sekelam mana pun kabut yang melatari masa silam seseorang, janganlah sampai membenarkan dirinya dan orang-orang yang disayanginya terjebak dalam lembah putus asa dari rahmat Allah s.w.t.

Ingatlah, berputus asa adalah penyakit warisan Iblis dan tradisi orang yang ingkar dan derhaka kepada Allah s.w.t.

Satu hari seorang lelaki tua datang bertemu Rasulullah s.a.w. Keuzurannya ketara tatkala setiap langkahnya itu terpaksa mengikut hayunan tongkatnya yang lesu. Derapnya lemah sekali. Namun, seuzur mana pun dirinya, ia mesti terus melangkah, kerana kemusykilannya harus diajukan segalanya kepada Rasulullah s.a.w. sebelum kelibat Izrail menjelma!

Ya Rasulullah, sesungguhnya banyak kesilapan dan maksiat yang telah aku lakukan (selama ini). Apakah aku akan diampunkan (Allah)? soalnya tanpa selindung lagi.

Apakah engkau bersaksi bahawa tiada Tuhan yang disembah selain Allah? Tanpa sebarang jawapan, spontan Rasulullah s.a.w. bertanya kembali kepadanya. Demikian antara teknik pengucapan Rasulullah s.a.w. yang sungguh indah.

Bahkan! Dan aku juga bersaksi bahawa engkau adalah utusan Allah!! Balas lelaki tua penuh yakin dan bersemangat. Sesungguhnya (Allah) akan mengampuni semua kesalahan dan maksiatmu itu.

Nabi s.a.w. menutup bicara dengan sebuah pengharapan yang penuh kepastian. Inilah dinul Islam yang suci lagi indah. Inilah sebuah cerita yang sarat dengan pengajaran buat renungan insan sepanjang zaman. Cerita yang harus menjadi paksi kepada sekalian umat Muhammad s.a.w., lebih-lebih lagi di zaman yang penuh dengan fitnah dan dugaan yang maha hebat ini.

Merujuk firman dan cerita di atas, jelaslah betapa besar sekali ruang pengharapan yang diperuntukkan Allah buat hamba-hamba-Nya yang mukmin hatta kepada mereka yang selama ini sering terlajak dan tercebur menderhakai-Nya. Kalau kita semua sungguh-sungguh menyedari dan menginsafi hal ini, diandaikan tiada seorang pun di antara kita yang mahu berputus asa dari rahmat-Nya lagi. Sememangnya Allah sentiasa merindui rintihan hamba-hamba yang berdosa kepada-Nya.

Firman Allah:

Ibrahim berkata: Tidak ada orang yang berputus asa dari rahmat Tuhannya, kecuali orang-orang yang sesat.(Al-Hijr: 56)

Firman Allah:

Hai anak-anakku, pergilah kamu maka carilah berita tentang Yusuf dan saudaranya dan jangan kamu berputus asa dari rahmat Allah. Sesungguhnya tiada berputus asa dari rahmat Allah melainkan kaum yang kafir.(Yusuf : 87)

Islam, dari segenap aspek dan cabang, semuanya merangkumi isu pembukaan pintu taubat dan rahmat. Keberuntungan dan keutamaan ini hanya ada dalam Islam, tiada dalam agama-agama serta isme-isme batil yang lain. Haji yang mabrur contohnya, mengeluarkan pemiliknya dari zulmat kedosaan sampai dirinya dibersihkan bagai bayi yang baru dilahirkan.

Puasa yang dibina atas dasar iman dan pengharapan kepada Allah, menghapus dosa pemiliknya yang sebelumnya. Malah, kurniaan bagi seorang yang keluar dari daerah kesyirikan kepada daerah ketauhidan dengan penuh kerelaan, kepasrahan dan keikhlasan, ialah perlupusan terhadap segala karat dosa dan nodanya yang lalu. Subhanallah.

Bilamana faktor penting ini telah difahami serta diimani, maka usah teragak-agak lagi melakar jalan untuk sampai kepadanya. Melakar jalan guna mencapai rahmat Allah ini bukan omong-omong kosong. Ia perintah Allah yang harus diterima dengan sepenuh hati dan jiwa raga.

Firman Allah S.W.T.:

Dan kembalilah kamu kepada Tuhanmu dan berserah dirilah kepada-Nya sebelum datang azab kepadamu, kemudian kamu tidak dapat ditolong (lagi). (Az-Zumar: 54)

Jalan menuju rahmat Allah itu tidak syak lagi adalah Taubat Nasuha yang tulus murni kepada Rabbul Izzah. Inilah sebenar-benar taubat yang dikehendaki Allah. Inilah taubat yang wajib dipersembahkan oleh semua hamba-Nya, dek kesempurnaan segala syaratnya serta penyerahan total hamba kepada Rabb semesta alam.

It's true that each of us has astonishing dreams in our life. However, sometimes we just simply say that we care of our religion without taking any actions.

It is funny that we say we study hard in the university for the sake of ALLAH and that we will contribute to His cause when we work, when in reality we sit in our own corner, doing enough to satisfy our whims, and do the bare minimum for Islam.

Funny, isn't it? When students say 'I want to be an Islamic doctor,' or 'I want to be an Islamic engineer,' when all they do is read books, pass exams, get a job, get a spouse, buy a big house, produce some kids, and die.

Now that, is funny. Let us recorrect our niat, before we fall into the group of those who're forgetting who is their God and where they come from.

10 Wasiat Imam Syafie

SEBELUM Imam Syafie pulang ke rahmatullah, beliau sempat berwasiat kepada para muridnya dan umat islam seluruhnya. Berikut ialah kandungan wasiat tersebut:

"Barangsiapa yang ingin meninggalkan dunia dalam keadaan selamat maka hendaklah ia mengamalkan sepuluh perkara."

PERTAMA: HAK KEPADA DIRI.
Iaitu: Mengurangkan tidur, mengurangkan makan, mengurangkan percakapan dan berpada-pada dengan rezeki yang ada.

KEDUA: HAK KEPADA MALAIKAT MAUT
Iaitu: Mengqadhakan kewajipan-kewajipan yang tertinggal, mendapatkan kemaafan dari orang yang kita zalimi, membuat persediaan untuk mati dan merasa cinta kepada Allah.

KETIGA : HAK KEPADA KUBUR
Iaitu : Membuang tabiat suka menabur fitnah, membuang tabiat kencing merata-rata, memperbanyakkan solat Tahajjud dan membantu orang yang dizalimi.

KEEMPAT: HAK KEPADA MUNKAR DAN NAKIR
Iaitu : Tidak berdusta, berkata benar, meninggalkan maksiat dan nasihat menasihati.

KELIMA : HAK KEPADA MIZAN (NERACA TIMBANGAN AMAL PADA HARI KIAMAT)
Iaitu : Menahan kemarahan, banyak berzikir, mengikhlaskan amalan dan sanggup menanggung kesusahan.

KEENAM : HAK KEPADA SIRAT (TITIAN YANG MERENTANGI NERAKA PADA HARI AKHIRAT)
Iaitu : Membuang tabiat suka mengumpat, bersikap warak, suka membantu orang beriman dan suka berjemaah.

KETUJUH : HAK KEPADA MALIK (PENJAGA NERAKA)

We are drawn to people who smile. There is an attraction factor. We want to know a smiling person and figure out what is so good. Frowns, scowls and grimaces all push people away ,but a smile draws them in.
2.Smiling changes our mood

Next time you are feeling down, try putting on a smile. There's a good chance you mood will change for the better. Smiling can trick the body into helping you change your mood.
3. Smiling is Contagious

When someone is smiling they lighten up the room, change the moods of others, and make things happier. A smiling person brings happiness with them. Smile lots and you will draw people to you.

4. Smiling Relieves Stress

Stress can really show up in our faces. Smiling helps to prevent us from looking tired, worn down, and overwhelmed. When you are stressed, take time to put on a smile. The stress should be reduced and you'll be better able to take action.

5. Smiling Boosts Your Immune System

Smiling helps the immune system to work better. When you smile, immune function improves possibly because you are more relaxed. revent the flu and colds by smiling.

6. Smiling Lowers Your Blood Pressure

When you smile, there is a measurable reduction in your blood pressure. Give it a try if you have a blood pressure monitor at home.
Sit for a few minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute and take another reading while still smiling. Do you notice a difference?

Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug.

10 Wasiat Imam Syafie

SEBELUM Imam Syafie pulang ke rahmatullah, beliau sempat berwasiat kepada para muridnya dan umat islam seluruhnya. Berikut ialah kandungan wasiat tersebut:

"Barangsiapa yang ingin meninggalkan dunia dalam keadaan selamat maka hendaklah ia mengamalkan sepuluh perkara."

PERTAMA: HAK KEPADA DIRI.
Iaitu: Mengurangkan tidur, mengurangkan makan, mengurangkan percakapan dan berpada-pada dengan rezeki yang ada.

KEDUA: HAK KEPADA MALAIKAT MAUT
Iaitu: Mengqadhakan kewajipan-kewajipan yang tertinggal, mendapatkan kemaafan dari orang yang kita zalimi, membuat persediaan untuk mati dan merasa cinta kepada Allah.

KETIGA : HAK KEPADA KUBUR
Iaitu : Membuang tabiat suka menabur fitnah, membuang tabiat kencing merata-rata, memperbanyakkan solat Tahajjud dan membantu orang yang dizalimi.

KEEMPAT: HAK KEPADA MUNKAR DAN NAKIR
Iaitu : Tidak berdusta, berkata benar, meninggalkan maksiat dan nasihat menasihati.

KELIMA : HAK KEPADA MIZAN (NERACA TIMBANGAN AMAL PADA HARI KIAMAT)
Iaitu : Menahan kemarahan, banyak berzikir, mengikhlaskan amalan dan sanggup menanggung kesusahan.

KEENAM : HAK KEPADA SIRAT (TITIAN YANG MERENTANGI NERAKA PADA HARI AKHIRAT)
Iaitu : Membuang tabiat suka mengumpat, bersikap warak, suka membantu orang beriman dan suka berjemaah.

KETUJUH : HAK KEPADA MALIK (PENJAGA NERAKA)
